I would like to invite you to join us for our annual Youth Leaders Retreat, November 17-19. This retreat is for all youth pastors and spouses as well as all lay youth leaders and spouses who lead a youth ministry. You will find it to be a great time of inspiration, encouragement, dreaming, relaxing, making new friends, and seeing old ones. We encourage you to come and connect with the outstanding team of youth leaders and spouses from across Minnesota.
Once again, the 2011 YPR will be at the Elk River Holiday Inn and Waterpark. This 27 million dollar complex was built just 6 years ago and features beautiful rooms and a spacious waterpark www.hielkriver.com that will provide a wonderful environment for our retreat.
Our on-site welcome booth will open Thursday at 6:30 p.m., but feel free to check in as early as 4:00 p.m. if desired. The cost is $170 per person for pre-registered, and $190 for registrations received after Oct 27th. All meals, lodging, and activities are included in the registration fee. You may also want to bring along some spending money for a trip to the Albertville Outlet Mall or Cabela’s on Friday afternoon. The first scheduled event is the banquet at 7:30 p.m., hosted by our Executive and Sectional Reps. Childcare for infants will be provided during all sessions. Please indicate on the registration page if you will require infant-care. The closing session will be on Saturday morning and we will dismiss by noon.
Speaking at the 2011 YPR will be Scotty Gibbons. Scotty is a veteran youth pastor from James River A/G who leads an amazing student ministry called Reallife. On a weekly basis Realife Student Center is home to over 1000 students and 200 volunteer leaders. Scotty will challenge us in areas of vision and also the priorities of everyday student ministry. He will be sharing in three general seessions, and Youth Pastors/Leaders from across Minnesota will also be sharing in a variety of workshops. I have the privilege of once again speaking at the opening banquet on Thursday night and look forward to sharing the vision God has placed on my heart.
For those who are first-year youth pastors/leaders or have just moved into the Minnesota District within the last year, we extend a special invitation to our annual “Newcomers’ Welcome.” We will meet at Rockwood Grill at 1:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon (Rockwood’s shares the parking lot with the Holiday Inn). Joining us will be the Executive Youth Committee and their wives. Don’t miss this opportunity for MSM to buy your lunch and also to enjoy a great time of fellowship, introductions, and inspiration.
